Fixing Cocoa Text DraggingLike a number of Mac users,
I’ve found dragging text in a Cocoa application frustrating — unlike
the original Mac technique of just clicking and dragging selected text, you have
to wait some time period. Luckily, you can set this delay to 1 ms with the
Terminal command
defaults write -g NSDragAndDropTextDelay -int 1 Thanks to MacGeekery for the tip! (They have more details on setting it for all users.) Some people complain that this makes it harder to change the selection, but you can click once to deselect if needed. And you don’t accidentally lose the selection by dragging too quickly.
